Carol Morgan – projektantka tkanin i wykładowca na BA Fashion Communication and Promotion Course w Central Saint Martins w Londynie. Prowadzi  praktykę zawodową w zakresie Global Trend Tracking, Fashion Marketing i Design Consulting. W Europie współpracuje z dużymi sieciami handlowymi jako projektant i konsultant marketingu, działa w branży modowej, bankowej, w zakresie doradztwa w komunikacji, strategii marki i trendów. Odgrywa kluczowe role w firmach wprowadzających nowe marki na brytyjski rynek. Jest prelegentem wielu międzynarodowych konferencji, wykłada gościnnie na wielu uniwersytetach na całym świecie. Interesuje się innymi kulturami oraz czynnikami kształtującymi  modę i dizajn na świecie.

PROGRAM WARSZTATÓW/ Program of Workshops

1. FASHION COMMUNICATION

Podczas trzydniowych warsztatów będziemy pracować nad procesem komunikacji oraz promocji naszych modowych pomysłów. Przyjrzymy się jak obierać kierunek, w jaki sposób rozwijać strategię marki zgodnie z naszą modową wizją i aspiracjami. Studenci stworzą krótkie projekty, których ostateczna prezentacja powinna odzwierciedlać koncepcje, doskonałe wyniki oraz umiejętności nabyte podczas warsztatów.
Warsztaty mają charakter interaktywny i będą prowadzone w stylu Central Saint Martins. Od studentów oczekuje się udziału w dyskusji oraz pracy poza zajęciami w celu stworzenia końcowej prezentacji (ok. 5-10min) na ostatni dzień warsztatów (wytyczne projekty zostaną przekazane w pierwszym dniu) Warsztaty będą prowadzone w języku angielskim (zapewniamy tłumacza), chociaż każda okazja do ćwiczenia języka angielskiego powinna zostać wykorzystana (język mody!) Warsztaty będą miały nieformalny charakter z elementami zabawy! Z dobrą możliwością do sprawdzenia swoich modowych pomysłów.

W pierwszym dniu każdy uczeń powinien przynieść jedną pracę, która pokazuje ideę projektu, nad którą obecnie pracuje. To nie musi być ubranie, ale może być szkic, zdjęcie lub jakakolwiek wizualizacja, które wyjaśnią przyjęty koncept. Materiały szkoleniowe nie będą rozdawane, studenci powinni być przygotowani do sporządzania własnych notatek.

2. STUDIO FASHION FORUM

Na tych 3-dniowych warsztatach będziemy pracować nad zrozumieniem rozwoju pomysłów, poprzez wpływy, inspiracje, trendy i kolory. Studenci będą wykonywać twórcze ćwiczenia, uczestniczyć w studyjnych dyskusjach oraz prowadzić prezentacje. Naszym celem jest stworzenie kreatywnego, energicznego środowiska „Design Studio” i atmosfery, w której uczniowie mogą analizować pomysly poprzez połączenie praktyki i teorii.
Warsztaty będą miały formę interaktywną i będą prowadzone w stylu Central Saint Martins . Od studentów oczekuje się udziału w dyskusji oraz pracy poza zajęciami w celu stworzenia końcowej prezentacji (ok. 5-10min) na ostatni dzień warsztatów (wytyczne projekty zostaną przekazane w pierwszym dniu) Warsztaty będą prowadzone w języku angielskim (zapewniamy tłumacza), chociaż każda okazja do ćwiczenia języka angielskiego powinna zostać wykorzystana (język mody!) Warsztaty będą miały nieformalny charakter z elementami zabawy! Z dobrą możliwością do sprawdzenia swoich modowych pomysłów.

Carol Morgan trained as a textile designer and teaches on the BA Fashion Communication and Promotion course at Central Saint Martins, London. Her own professional practice is in Global Trend Tracking, Fashion Marketing and Design consulting. She works in Europe with large retail fashion chains as a design and marketing consultant, as well as a variety of industries from beauty to banking, consulting in communication, brand strategy and trends. She has played key roles with companies launching new brands into the UK market. She has been a key speaker at international conferences and a visiting lecturer in universities worldwide. Her personal interest is in other cultures and what effects design and fashion around the world.

1. FASHION COMMUNICATION

During the three day workshop we will work through the process of communicating and promoting our fashion ideas to the right audience. Looking at how we take a “ new direction” and develop a “brand strategy “ for ourselves and our ideas, that “fits” with our personal fashion view and aspiration. Students will be given a short project and the final presentation should reflect concepts and ideal outcomes for your work. The workshop will be interactive and will be taught in the Central Saint Martins style i.e. students will be expected to contribute in discussion and to work outside of the workshop hours towards a final presentation (approx. 5-10mins)of practical work, on Day 3 (a simple project briefing will be given on DAY1). The workshop will be conducted in both Polish and English, although every opportunity should be used to practice spoken English (the language of fashion!) This workshop will be informal and fun!!! With a good opportunity for testing your fashion ideas.

On DAY 1 each student should bring 1 piece of work that demonstrates a design idea that they are currently working on. This does not have to be a garment but may be a sketch, photograph or any visual that shows an idea. Handouts will not be given; students should be prepared to take their own notes.

2. STUDIO FASHION FORUM

On this three day workshop we will work at understanding the development of design ideas, through influences, inspiration, trends and colour. Students will work on creative exercises, participating in
Studio discussion and tutor led presentations. Our aim is to create a creative energetic “ design studio “ environment and an atmosphere where students may explore design ideas through a combination of practice and theoretical ideas. The workshop will be interactive and taught in the Central Saint Martins style i.e. students will be expected to contribute in discussion and to work outside of the workshop hours towards a final presentation (approx. 5-10mins) of practical work on DAY 3 (a simple project briefing will be given on DAY 1).
