The idea is to work creatively with light, space or time. The goal is to produce a photographic project in which the photographic medium is the final work, not just documentation.

6. NUDE PHOTOGRAPHY (CONSTANT PARTICIPATION OF MODELS)
„Nude” or „Body as a form” are the most common English names for the subject „nude.” We strive to go beyond these, and the work of our graduates is mainly characterized by great diversity. The school provides models or models, but a lot of work is created outside of classes. Hand-created black and white prints compete with photos after extensive processing in Photoshop. The best results are provided by a thoughtful idea, madness on set and focus in post-production.
Nude photography classes aim for students to create works that are aesthetically or formally more interesting than those published to date. A high degree of unrealism is required. All image capture techniques are acceptable. Emphasis is placed on manual post-production procedures, which produce extraordinary results when combined with processing with graphic programs.
Classes include:

  • Law of authorship in photography- lecture and examples of the lecturer’s own experience
  • Demonstration of the canons of lighting used in the act*.
  • Taking photographs of nudes of a model or model engaged by the school
  • Guidelines for performing nudes outside the school
  • Discussion of topics and conditions for passing
  • Consultation of individual works
* As with any type of photography, you can, and sometimes must, break canons, but first you have to know them.

7. GUMPRINT TECHNIQUE
Chromate rubber is a 19th century technique, now experiencing a resurgence. Its advantages are the uniqueness of each print and its proven durability of several thousand years. Indeed, the image has the composition of Egyptian manuscripts. Papers of various compositions are used, chromium salts as a light-sensitizing agent, any pigments and gum arabic, which binds the pigment to the paper.
Other substrates can be used instead of paper. We use print-sized negatives and expose the image to the sun or a UV lamp.
Classes include:

  • Clarification of the final image according to the assigned subject.
  • Preparation of the substrate with gelatin and formalin.
  • Preparation of the negative with the help of graphic programs or manual procedures.
  • Preparation of emulsion with a composition in accordance with the creative intention.
  • Application of emulsion on the substrate.
  • Exposing the print.
  • Developing the print in water.
  • Binding of the print and author’s signature.
  • All stages are consulted.

Classes are currently conducted „in real time,” although in the 2020 summer semester they were conducted remotely with satisfactory results.
