ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY WITH CERTIFICATE

The course is aimed at beginners who have not dealt with analog photography before and want to get acquainted with this field.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
As recently as twenty years ago, everyone photographed on film, today digital photography is dominant, and analog photography is becoming elitist, thus more attractive. It is an alternative for those weary of perfection and a certain soullessness of digital images. Thanks to the workshop, you can learn about the somewhat mysterious and not entirely predictable world of photography based on a chemical process.

PROGRAM

Day 1

Introduction, short historical outline. Specifics of analog photography compared to digital. Information about equipment and accessories. Tips to help you buy used equipment and organize your own darkroom. Basic data on materials: films, reagents, papers, etc.

Day 2

Studio work. Principles of portrait photography . Characteristics of studio lighting and rules of use. Portrait session made by workshop participants with analog and digital cameras.

Day 3

Classes in the darkroom. Learning how to develop film. Workshop participants will independently develop negatives exposed the day before. Exercise in Luxography.

Day 4

Classes in the darkroom and in the studio. General principles of making prints. Making enlargements and finishing work. Commemorative photos in the studio. Presentation of certificates of participation in workshops organized by SKF.

Lecturer: Rafal Idczak – photo artist, press photographer, computer graphic designer involved in retouching, vector design, video editing, 3D graphics, UI/UX design, lecturer at SKF School of Creative Photography.
