Fotoprzestrzenie- coroczna wystawa prac dyplomowych absolwentów Szkoły Kreatywnej Fotografii, Szkoły Wnetrz i Przestrzeni oraz Szkoły Visual Merchandisingu jest prezentowana w nowym budynku szkoły przy ulicy Zamoyskiego 52 w Krakowie.

The annual “Fotoprzestrzenie” exhibition spotlights selected work by graduate students in Photography, Interior Design and Visual Merchandising.

Prezentowane fotografie są bardzo różnorodne –od baśniowych po realistyczne, od romantycznych po prowokujące, od czarno białych po kolorowe.

Photos presented in the exhibition range from the magical to the realistic, from the romantic to the provocative and from black and white to colorful.

Daniel Stasielak w serii dużych zdjęć „Quadratpolis” narzucił sobie rygor ascetycznej, kwadratowej kompozycji. Proste geometryczne kształty to inspiracja suprematyzmem Kazimierza Malewicza.

For his „Quadratpolis” series of large-format photos, Daniel Stasielak chose to limit himself to an aesthetically challenging black-and-white square composition, and purposely avoided any use of color or narrative. Simple geometrical shapes dominate the photos, inspired by Kazimierz Malewicz’s Supermatism. Inspiration of the exhibition went far beyond famous subjects, though.

Tamara Gadomska inspiracje do swojego dyplomu wzięła z codziennego życia, a raczej prób ucieczki od codzienności. Na swoich fotografiach przedstawia ludzi, dla których hobby jest taką właśnie próbą. Zabawnym ujęciom postaci na fotografiach smaku dodaje szczypta ironii.

Tamara Gadomska, for example, presents photos of people whose everyday lives are far removed from their hobbies.  One of her photos present a young womena a lawyer by profession (whose passion is musical) standing next to a bus stop with  her umbrella.  In another photo a teacher whose hobby is travelling poses with her suitcase in hand.  Another shows a physiotherapist (who loves to swim) in a drained swimming pool. The humor and irony of the photos are not only part of life but are also integral to the photographer’s style.

Znaczącą i bardzo efektowną część wystawy stanowią fotografie wykonane czasochłonną techniką gumy chromianowej, dającą efekt starej fotografii czy grafiki.

By using different techniques (such as the difficult and antiquated gum print) the photographers demonstrate their talent and creativity.

Absolwenci szkoły Wnętrz i Przestrzeni zaprezentowali swoje projekty w postaci wysokiej jakości wydruków w formacie B1. Wśród prac znalazł się projekt modernizacji krakowskiej galerii Bunkier Sztuki, zakładający renowację wnętrz i nowe sposoby ekspozycji.Obok projektów wnętrz na wystawie można obejrzeć prototypy lamp, ręcznie wykonanych  z piłek pingpongowych albo stalowego wiaderka.

Next to the Photography part of the exhibition, Interior Design Students showcase their work. Each piece of work offers a different take on what the office, gallery or spa center could look like, all presented as high quality 3D images. Among the works we find a re-design of Kraków’s Bunkier Sztuki gallery, where designer Natalia Kornecka suggests a modern and stylish way of arranging the exhibition space with respect to the history of the building. Next to the 3D works, a hand-made lamp collection was presented.  The lamps surprise and delight the viewer with their incorporation of objects such as steel pipes and ping-pong balls.

Prace młodych visual merchandiserów zwracają uwagę pomysłowością i precyzyjnym dopracowaniem szczegółów. Bajkowe projekty witryn sklepowych i książek visual merchandisingu przenoszą w nieznane światy.

One can hardly mention interior design without including some discussion of visual merchandising, especially when the projects designed by VM students are this creative, playful and unique. Shop interiors designed by Milena Czajkowska for a jeans company hearken back to a saloon in the old American west in the days of the cowboys.
Viewing the top shop catalogue by Paulina Stopa is like reading a vintage illustrated book for little girls. Each invites you into a different fairytale world.

Eko wciąż na topie- konkurs na Ekotorbę II edycja

Moda na ekologię to moda nieprzemijająca. Podobnie jest z modą na ekotorby. Widzimy je na każdym kroku jednak mało która zachwyca- estetyką czy funkcjonalnością. II edycja konkursu na projekt ekotorby organizowanego przez Krakowskie Szkoły Artystyczne (www.ksa.edu.pl), tym razem przy współpracy krakowskiej Galerii Kazimierz ma rozwiązać ten problem. I to właśnie dla klientów Galerii uczestnicy konkursu mają zaprojektować nową, ekologiczną torbę. Zwycięzca otrzyma nagrodę w wysokości 2 tysięcy złotych, a jego projekt trafi do seryjnej produkcji.

Najlepszy projekt torby ekologicznej dla Galerii Kazimierz wybierze specjalne jury, które ogłosi swój werdykt   23 stycznia 2010 podczas Junk Fashion Show- pokazu ekologicznego Szkoły Artystycznego Projektowania Ubioru. Uczestnicy konkursu zobowiązani są dostarczyć prototyp torby w skali 1:1 na adres podany w regulaminie na stronie www.galeriakazimierz.pl do 12.01.2010.

Jaki ma być? Funkcjonalny, modny i oczywiście ekologiczny, nadający się do wielokrotnego użytku. Nie można zapomnieć również o logo Galerii Kazimierz. Prawdopodobnie estetycznych toreb ekologicznych jest mało, ponieważ spełnienie wszystkich wymogów nie jest zadaniem łatwym. Organizatorzy mają jednak nadzieję, że znajdzie się grupa osób, które podejmą wyzwanie. Prototypy najlepszych zostaną także pokazane na specjalnej wystawie w Galerii Kazimierz. Powodzenia!

Your new handbag – chic and green

W ramach projektu „Zawsze pod ręką. Torebki damskie od średniowiecza do współczesności” Muzeum Narodowe w Krakowie oraz Szkoła Artystycznego Projektowania Ubioru nawiązały współpracę, której efektem był pokaz recyklingowych torebek zaprojektowanych przez studentki SAPU. Miał on miejsce pod koniec października w Arsenale Muzeum Książąt Czartoryskich. Modelki prezentujące zaskakujące, kolorowe i odważnie zrealizowane torebki dla równowagi miały na sobie proste czarne sukienki projektu Anety Rapacz i Moniki Heter.

Częścią projektu były także warsztaty renowacji  torebek zorganizowane i poprowadzone przez  Magdalenę Pędziałek. Torebki z pokazu jak i z warsztatów można było oglądać na wystawie w Galerii BB, przy ulicy Garbarskiej w Krakowie.

The garage, the grocery story, the pharmacy, the hardware store, your grandparents’ attic – these might not be the first places you think of when you need new fashion accessories. But these are some of the places where young designers form the Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design (www.ksa.edu.pl) have found materials to create their unique handbags.

The final results are playful and original but also elegant, smart and attractive. All were crafted from things such as vinyl records, cans, and soup boxes. These old objects which seem useless and whose only destination is a trash bin have been transformed into stylish pieces. The designed handbags are not only an excellent demonstration of students’ creativity but they also show their concern for the environment and interest in recycling. With the designs students demonstrated that nothing is too useless to be transformed into high fashion and that we don’t need to pay big money to have accessories that are original and stand out in a crowd.

“Eco – creativity” was part of a workshop in which students took part to learn how to re-purpose used objects and materials, and how to create new patterns from old photos, plastic bags, newspapers and to make new shapes inspired by what they have found. The design of the handbags showcased the imaginative talent of the students. Who would have thought, after all, that a metal screw could be the inspiration for a futuristic industrial look, or plastic tape for a more avant-garde look, or black and while plastic bags for a romantic style? The workshops focused students’ natural talent and bolstered their confidence, while encouraging them to take more creative risks.

After the workshops the next step was to show the handbags to the public. Together with the National Museum, Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design, has presented a combined Runway Show/ Art Exhibition in one of the museum’s halls, gathering numerous audience.
