Habitus Baltija 2012 - KSA

Młodzi projektanci mody z Łotwy, Litwy, Estonii, Białorusi, Polsce i Finlandii – uczestnicy 12. Konkursu Młodych Projektantów Mody „Habitus Baltija 2012” – pokażą swoje kolekcje w Międzynarodowym Centrum Wystawowym  Kipsala (Ryga)  14 kwietnia 2012. SAPU zostało oficjalnym partnerem konkursu Habitus Baltija 2012. W tym roku naszą szkołę będą reprezentować Anna Walicka i Xymena Maciuk, poza tym w konkursie wystartuje indywidualnie Marta Makary.

Young fashion designers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Poland and Finland – the participants of the 12th Competition for Young Fashion Designers “Habitus Baltija 2012” – are going to present their fashion collections to the jury and audiences at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre on 14 April. ‘All those who love fashion, creativity, interesting and stylish ideas are welcome to watch the shows of the 12th International Competition of Young Fashion Designers “Habitus Baltija 2012”. The competition reveals young talented designers and provides insight into the future fashion trends,’ the project manager of “Habitus Baltija 2012” Ilona Ansone tells. Competition collections will be evaluated by a competent international jury chaired by the fashion expert Alessandro Manetti (Spain). The member of “Habitus Baltija 2012” jury Agnese Narņicka tells that ‘this year competition will be very interesting and intriguing since the participants represent different fashion schools, moreover, their style and approach to fashion is quite different. There are no specific competition categories this year that will make competition more difficult and interesting. ” “Habitus Baltija 2012” presents 32 emerging fashion designers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Poland and Finland. The title of the Best Fashion School is going to be contended among nine higher education institutions – the Art Academy of Latvia (AAL), Riga Technical University (RTU, Latvia), Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA) and VAA Telsiai Faculty of Arts (Lithuania), Estonian Academy of Arts, EuroAcademy and Tallinn University of Applied Sciences (Estonia), Cracow School of Arts and Fashion Design (Poland) and NOVIA University of Applied Sciences (Finland).

Latvia represented by 9 emerging designers
Nine emerging fashion designers are going to represent Latvia at the “Habitus Baltija 2012” Competition and they are as follows: Andra Andžāne (Collection „Lab Work”; AAL), Lelde Grēbere (Collection “Perfect Mask”; RTU), Sabīne Groza (Collection “[græn’][græn’]”; AAL), Inga Šadurska (Collection “Color Circle”; RTU), Kristīne Vanaga (Collection “Summer Kitchen; RTU). The Art Academy of Latvia will also be represented at the School Competition by Evija Berga (Collection “Concrete”) and Iveta Vilne (Collection “Girl With a Rabbit Heart”); Riga Technical University – by Signe Nasteviča (Collection “Make it Louder!”) Tatjana Kravčenko (Collection “Forest Creatures”).

The special guests of the Award Ceremony are the young and gifted fashion designer Alejandra Anglada (Mexico), who is going to present her 2012/2013 women’s wear collection “CREATURES ALL OVER THE CITY”, and Aleksandra Stepcenko (Latvia/Germany). The host of event – the charismatic and stylish actor Andris Bulis.

Fashion expert jury
International board of judges chaired by the creative director of the Catalonian Association of Fashion and Style ModaFad, the director of IED Barcelona School of Design, Fashion, Visual Arts and Communications Alessandro Manetti will evaluate the originality, quality and style of collections entered into competition. The jury will include fashion professionals and experts, lecturers from art and fashion colleges of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Germany and Poland. Among them to be mentioned – Annette Hofmann from the Lette Verein School of Fashion Berlin (Germany), Irina Chicherina, the director of Showroom R.E.D. (Russia), Elena Vlasova, the editor-in-chief of the magazine “L’Officiel Latvija”, Agnese Kleina, the editor-in-chief of the magazine “DECO” and a fashion blogger and the well-known fashion designer Agnese Narņicka.

Seminars on fashion
Within the framework of the Competition for Young Fashion Designers “Habitus Baltija 2012” and the International Fashion and Textile Industry Fair “Intertextil Balticum 2012”, an international seminar on fashion conducted by the well-known fashion expert Alessandro Manetti (Spain) will be held at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre Business Centre at 14.45 on 13 April. Working language: English. The “Habitus Baltija 2012” participants and the holders of the “Intertextil Balticum 2012” entry tickets are entitled to free admission. The mission of the “Habitus Baltija” Competition is to promote the discovery of new talents, to foster the professionalism of young fashion designers and to stimulate their creative potential, to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge between fashion designers and professionals of fashion industry. The competition is organised by the International Exhibition Company BT 1 in conjoint with the Art Academy of Latvia, the Estonian Academy of Arts, the Vilnius Academy of Arts, the Cracow School of Arts and Fashion Design and the Tallinn University of Applied Sciences.

The “Habitus Baltija 2012” Competition will occur simultaneously with the 17th International Exhibition for Textile, Clothing, Leathers and Production Equipment “Intertextil Balticum 2012”, 13–15 April, and the 1st Nordic and Baltic Fashion and Textile Forum “Sustainability and New Markets” to be held at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, Riga, Latvia.
