Language requirements
Although all our art and fashion classes are conducted in Polish, English may be used for communication with teachers and other students. Therefore, applicants must have at least an intermediate level of knowledge of English. English classes are held for two years. Support is to offered to international students in the following ways:
1. All international students, should enroll on a Polish Course at least one month before the beginning of the school year.
We advice to take Polish language courses in your country or in Poland before starting education in our school.

For our perspective students who decide to study Polish in Krakow we are opening one month language course in September (80h per month. Total cost of the course is 250 euros per one month. (payment to 20.08)
The price includes cultural and social program i.e. introductory guided tour of Old Krakow, welcome and farewell parties, trip to a historic salt mine in Wieliczka, guided tour of Kazimierz, the Old Jewish Quarter of Krakow, visit to the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill (the cost of entrance fee and transport is covered by course participants).
We may also organize the additional event: trip to the concentration camp at Oświęcim/Auschwitz.
2. Polish language classes will be continued for two years. Most art and fashion classes are workshops and therefore a basic knowledge of Polish enables communication.
3. Students will be assigned a tutor who will help them extend their understanding of subjects. From the very beginning of the course, you may meet with your tutor and other international students in a tutorial group.
Admission
Admission to SAPU is open to any applicant with a high school diploma. No former study in the field of art is required, however, it is advantageous. It has been proven, that students without former artistic experience may have the talent to benefit enormously from taking our course of study. All that is required is a true interest in fashion, creativity and commitment. We are dedicated to providing entry to people within age range and from diverse backgrounds. No portfolio is required.
Although most of our students will one day work in the fashion industry or begin their own businesses, some complete the course simply for the satisfaction that achievement brings.

The admission process is completed only when all components of the application reach the school and the registration fee reaches our bank account.
Applicants may apply in one of the following ways:
1. Complete the application on-line here. Your reservation for admission will be held for four weeks until all other documents reach the school by mail and the registration fee reaches our bank account.

Three to four weeks after receiving all application documents and the registration fee, the school will issue by mail a Certificate of Eligibility, which may be necessary when applying for visa in Polish consulates (in case you need it).
When to apply
Application and admission are possible throughout the year. International students are strongly encouraged to apply early to allow time to complete all admission requirements. You also have to remember that you should complete one month Polish course prior to the begining of the school year.
The school year starts at the begining of October and lasts until around 20th of June. There are no extra entries in spring.
Health Insurance
EU/EEA citizens
Students from EU and EEA countries should come to Poland with the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or a replacement certificate. After arrival the student should contact a local division of the National Health Fund in Krakow, in order to present the insurance document. A list of medical services, will be given by the local division of the National Health Fund after obtaining the insurance document.
Each student who is not insured against accidents is oblidged to buy one insurance in Poland. The school will recommend a suitable insurance company.
non EU/EEA citizens
All international students must have proper insurance covering medical and hospital expenses during their stay in Poland. Therefore, we advise you to purchase a medical and liability insurance covering the period of your study in Poland before your arrival, in the country of origin (make sure it is accepted in Poland).
Each student who is not insured against accidents is oblidged to purchase one in Poland. The school will advice aproper insurance company.

Payment of fees
Fees must be paid by transfer in Euros.
After applying by Internet you will be given our bank account number.
You are liable for bank charges and must instruct your bank accordingly.
Pleace notice:
1. The above prices are valid until 31th of December 2010.
2. Fees are revised annually with every effort to keep increases to a minimum.
3. The registration fee and tuition fees are non-refundable. No allowance is made for non attendance.
4. There are no extra fees for taking part is scheduled fashion shows.
5. The fees do not include the cost of materials necessary for attending classes such as paints, drawing paper, fabrics for collection, although the school may occassionaly provide some necessary materials for students.
6. Tuition fees are payable in advance and students who are in arrears will not be allowed to enroll for the next year.
7. Many students may be eligible for financial assistance from their local education authority, in such cases the school is happy to provide any documentation to assist students in obtaining financial aid.
You also need to plan for other expenses like housing, books and materials necessary in the course of study.
The average rent for a one bedroom appartment is 230-300 Euros per month. You can also share a flat with other students and lessen the cost dramatically. We can recommend reliable owners and estate agents. The best time for seeking an appartment is July, August and September.
Monthly cost of living for a single person in Krakow is 150-200 Euros.
